Chapter Two

Disclaimer: I do not claim any ownership of the characters, or the story, of Houshin Engi. Fujisaki Ryuu is the genius behind all of it. All of it I tell you! Please feel sorry for all his characters…they have been probably horribly mangled by me. Don't sue me…I need all the money I can get to buy Houshin Engi stuff…reviews are nice and can help me along, but flames will always be used to warm up my tea…but they are not shunned.

Dedicated: I have to dedicate this fanfiction to Dentsu, the one who got me into Houshin Engi. Sunny, who has been with me the whole time while we explored Houshin Engi…and Mearl! I can't thank her enough for helping me with stories and putting my stories on her website: 'www.bunnyhat.com'! Thanks all of you!

Author's Notes: Hello again! After a few good weeks, I decided to post the next part. I have to tell you all that it might take me a while to post…I have other things I'm trying to work on. I have to thank my reviewers for the last chapter…even though most of the reviewers I got for this were my friends…I still have to… >D Oh! Just so you all know…this part is a flashback/dream-like vision Taikoubou has. It might be a bit confusing, but I'll try my best to work it out!

xamnam: Heya Max. ; I'm trying my best to write them out quickly! I don't want to mangle it up too much, though. Post more on your stories as well! Oh! You need a continuation of your 'Halo', but don't use any of my ideas! >D

Slightly Pyscho: I'll try to explain it better to you in our Biology class. Heh. It's really, really confusing though. ::Is not joking:: I'm trying to work on it more, though… x.X; I hope you like this next chapter.

Annie Maxwell: Thanks for reviewing my story, and yeah. I've only seen the anime as well. I hope the manga comes out soon! And, yes, here is the next chapter! I hope you like it.

Soumanyon: x.X; ::Ish punched:: I don't like Bunchuu either… -.-; Just for this very reason. Also, since he insists on following the In (or Yin) no matter what… ::Glares at him:: Evil Bunchuu! I stole your 'reviewer thanks' idea. ::Steals it away:: Just like how you used to steal my ideas on Xanga. ::Slight glare:: This chapter was fun to write.

'When the Stars Fall…Chapter 2: The Drugged Taikoubou'

The angelic being was smiling happily at his friend who was fishing above him. Fugen and Taikoubou were at their casual fishing spot, and the emerald-hued doushi was sitting patiently at the edge of the cliff that overlooked the water. He held a long wooden rod, obviously deep in thought as his normally bright eyes were closed and his breathing was steady.

Fugen looked up from the small pool of water that was off to the edge of where his friend fished. He was leaning against a few rocks and his wan-skinned feet slipped easily into the crystal-blue waters. A sudden cackle was heard and Fugen just gently shook his head, smiling as he did.

"Hehehehehe! I got one! I got one!" The doushi was holding the wooden rod up as a fish struggled uselessly at the hook that cut into its mouth. Fugen flinched at this sight. He knew that Bou-chan meant no harm to the fish, but he must not of knew that it hurt the fish to do that. "I finally got one!"

"Bou-chan…" The angelic sennin gazed up to his friend, that small smile still lingering on his pale face. "Did you come to the ningenkai for fishing? Can't eat them but still fish…" He now shook his head again and chuckled slightly at how Bou-chan could do that. "…This isn't good."

As Fugen stood from the small pond, Taikoubou had unhooked the fish and threw it gently back into the waters below him. "I know, you hypocrite!" The halo-decorated being walked up the path towards his friend, trying to roll up his white pants to his knees before they got water on them. " I'm only fishing for fun!"

The angelic sennin had remembered something, and kept whatever it was in his enclosed hand. "Oh yeah! I have something to give you!" Opening his hand, he held out a two-inch hook. What an interesting item…it was completely straight. "This is a hook I made myself." He offered it to Taikoubou for him to use.

"Hey! How can this fish?" A gloved hand took the item and brought it down to look at it closer. It was straight, and that was all it was. This was not something that would catch or hurt fish. "You are fishing to think right? I understand very well!" The sky-blue haired boy took a seat next to him and smiled.

"But, for this kind of reason to make the fish suffer…don't you think you can make it up to them?" He brought a pale hand to his mouth and then he gestured to the clear waters below. At that moment, Taikoubou seemed to be thinking about the hook and what Fugen meant by it. There was silence from his part.

Taikoubou then had to interject something that had been bothering him for such a long while. "You really hate fighting to the very bottom!" How could Fugen be such a pacifist? Even if he wasn't able to eat the fish, why couldn't he just fish for them? It was such a fun and relaxing sport…but Fugen's words made sense…

"Actually, you're the same! That's why we get along!" Fugen looked over to his friend as he spoke. They truly did get along. They had been friends since they both met each other. Sure, it had been a few years, but Taikoubou had never brought that subject up until now.

"…But…" The emerald-hued doushi gazed down to the straight hook that he had in his open, gloved-palm. "…I think you will have to fight one day, because…deep within you there is a sharp knife…" The young boy closed his hand, hiding the straight-hook from view.

"At that time, I still would be by your side…" The sky-blue haired one had eyes of a dream as they looked over to his friend. "…This kind of power I have…" The eyes looked down to the crystal-blue waters. The emerald-hued one gazed back to the waters as well.

"…That time I was thinking…'I definitely can't let him die, because…he doesn't have a need to die!'…"

Taikoubou's vision faded from his sight.

"Fugen…that guy…" The koukin rikishi that he laid upon was speeding through Kingou, ready to leave the island he had taken so long to get to. How could Fugen be so stupid?! Didn't the member, the leader rather, of the Juunisen know that every and all help was needed to defeat Bunchuu…?

"…He actually made me eat sleeping pills…!" Taikoubou's eyes glazed over slightly, a bit of a drowse coming over him. Sighing gently, the doushi gazed at the Dashinben that he held. Raising his hand up, the young one's eyes seemed blank as he brought the Dashinben down onto his thigh.

"Aaaaaahhhh! I definitely…" Taikoubou swiftly sat up from his resting position, gazing around while he was on the Koukin Rikishi. "…Cannot sleep!" Cursing Fugen under his breath for being such an idiot, the still drugged Taikoubou began to slow down the Koukin Rikishi for his return to the angel.
