This is really fragmented and repetitive, but I wanted to write something that shows Oueki’s increasing insanity while being locked up in his cell at Kingou… it didn’t work very well… Another dark, bloody first person POV piece. Lovely, isn’t it? @_@;; I’ll have to write happier fics to prove the readers I’m not nuts.
------
Confinement. How long has it been? 100 days. This is my 100th day here. Maybe the 101st. Whatever the number is, it feels like an eternity. Who knows anymore. Do I? Do they? No, not them. They don’t know. They don’t care. But they stare at me. They’ve been staring ever since I was put in here. Eyes of different shapes, sizes and colours, fixated on my presence. Their teeth, glistening with youkai saliva.
They want me.
They want my flesh.
They want my flesh and blood.
They want my flesh and blood and bones.
They can smell me. They can smell all of me.
I clutch my arms around my knees tighter and huddle against the corner of my cell, trying to conceal myself as much as possible.
Stop looking.
Stop looking.
Goddammit. Just stop.
My long, untrimmed fingernails cut into my arm once more, adding to the small pool of fresh blood. I quiver. It’s cold in here again. A beam of light is hitting the pool. Blood. Proof of my existance. I shed my own blood daily to make sure I’m still alive. The pain keeps me awake. Keeps me alert. I see a reflection of myself in the pool.
What am I…?
I stare at the face in the reflection.
Who are you…?
You. Yeah, you.
I know. I know who you are.
You’re nothing more than a worthless piece of meat, taken here as a symbol of peace. No one loves you. No one cares about you. Mount Konron? They gave you away in exchange for that other kid. Over there, you meant nothing. In here, you mean nothing. You’re nothing.
Zero value.
The reflection’s now gone. Most of the blood dried up – encrusted itself on the floor.
My eyes dart back up at the cold, steel bars. They’re still watching.
…Die.
Die.
Everybody.
Die.
